I own a Sony Vaio PCG-K45 laptop, and I recently broke it. I need to remove the hardrive. How can i recover the data on it? Is there also some type of equipment I can purchase to recover the data?

I currently have a laptop that has vista home premium on it with alot of expensive software and alot of important files on it, I am going to upgrade to windows vista ultimate 32bit (the full retail version) just because it was given to me. How do i do this? I have norton ghost 12.0 and i made a shadow copy of my hardrive on an external hardrive so what would i do next? will installing the new OS erase all my programs and files on my laptop hardrive if so will i have to reinstall them from my shadow copy on my external hardrive? I was going to do a clean install of vista ultimate just so you know!

i use msn messenger and have chosen not to save my convo's on the computer because it's not mine it's my fiances. Somehow he was reading my conversations even tho they aren't being saved... how did he do this? he also managed to get my password to my msn messenger as well... is there some way he is tracking what's being done on his computer?

Ok, so uhm......I was trying to download a crack.....I know I'm not supposed to and trust me, I won't do it again...and now I can't log in to google....When I try it sends me to a phisher.....with the beggining as https:// instead of http:// like the authentic google uses......and I tried downloading spy sweeper but the virus closes it as soon as it tries to install....It's so evil!!!>.<

I had a home pc that was giving me some problems. I took it to my office and the tech hooked it up to the network we have (Novell) to diagnose the problem and download files for me. He told me he fixed it and I brought it home but the log-in screen wants me to enter a password based upon his employee log-in at work. I dont have his log-in info! How can I get around the log-into network with a password - when the computer is not connected to a network. Is there a way to do this in dos? Can I uninstall Novell through setup? I cant get past the gatekeeper!!!!!

I filling out an application online for Petco in Arkansas but when I get to a certain point it has all these words and says if there are no questions on the page to click the 'Next Step' button, but there isn't one. Has anyone done this before? Do you know what the problem is.

Hi,

I play World of Warcraft and I noticed that even though on my computer (AMD Sempron 2200+ 1.667 ghz, 1 gb Ram, 256 MB 9600 Radeon AGP Video card) it handles the game really good. I have all graphics and sounds tuned up to the maximum except occassionally it seems to lag quite a bit in places where there's a lot of action. Recently I've been doing research to see what would be the best upgrade for the buck. I'd like to keep the price on this new CPU in the $50.00 area. Which CPU can I upgrade to if my motherboard is a older type, A7V600-X with Socket A? I was considering a 64Bit processor but I'm not sure if it would be compatible with my motherboard. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

I created a power point presentation with a Student/Teacher version...and know that the same features do not show up if one does not have the same version (i.e., sounds, music, animation,etc.). Is there a way to share the presentation online - like through Yahoo Videos or YouTube? Is there a way to save .ppt as a video to be uploaded easily? Or, is there a way to create a webpage where friends could play the presentation -- it was for a friend's wedding and I said I'd share it somehow...

I'm starting a new job next week in which I will be going through a company's MS Excel and MS Word files and making little changes to them for a new project. I'll be working from home on my computer and also from the office at my job, using a flash drive to get the documents and spreadsheets back and forth from work and home.

Problem: My home computer does not have MS Office, but instead has Open Office.

Now I've heard the two are compatible with very slight differences, but for the work I'm doing I need to know exactly what kind of differences there will be and if it will affect the documents and spreadsheets I'm working with.

Because if I make mistakes, then I don't get paid, and that's the real problem.

I need to know what to do to transfer the files between the different software and make this work.
