Centrino is NOT just a processor but Intel's mobile platform containing their mobile processor, chipset and wireless chip. Pentium 4 is old technology and consumes a lot of electricity (gets HOT). The better ones from Intel are:
1. Celeron M (Yonah) - cheap but good performance.
2. Core Solo (Yonah)- better performance
3. Core Duo (Yonah2) - better but more expensive and second core most likely to be just idle for your application.
4. Core2 Duo - the best, but expensive and 2nd core will be mostly unutilized.
