My dell dimension 3000:

1GB of DDR RAM
ATI RADEON 9250 256MB DDR RAM
Intel Celeron 2.4GHz(I think)
80GB Maxtor Hard drive

I am really interested in making my own fonts so that I can personalize my typed paperwork.

Does doing so require any specific programs? And if so, are they something that I can download off the internet in which i can create fonts?

Any information that you have on creating your own fonts would be great.

My computer was working fine a few days ago, but when I tried to turn it on yesterday nothing happened. I checked to see if it was plugged in okay and it was. The monitor and the copier which are both hooked up to the same multi plug thing work fine. The fan in the back of the computer also will not work.
Does anyone know what may be wrong? I don't want to spend alot of money to get it fixed, so your input would be greatly appreciated.

I want to block the very inappropriate "myspace" from any kids that are getting on this computer.

I have IE 7, and Firefox on here. Ususally everyone uses IE 7.

Right now I'm in a cybercafe with 14 other people. To me, the internet is slowing down when more people use it in a cybercafe. But I still wonder if that is actually true. Even if the cybercafe has a very large space for a hundred computers, would the flow of the internet still be affected by the number of peolpe using it ?

My wife and I are just puzzled, and neither of us are computer gurus, so we have no idea how to fix it. A few days ago, random popup crap just started showing up. And it takes forever to get the popped up page to go away! It's stalling the computer like crazy! And when you don't close the popped up page, it's like it automatically refreshes itself and throws you back over to it.

Now suddenly, this new window has popped up four times in the last minute that says, "C:\Docume~1\Owner\Locals~1\Temp\Xpre.exe" and, "Windows cannot access the specified drive, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the file." Huh??

I ran AVG virus scan and the online Trendmicro-Housecall scan a couple of days ago, but apparently it did no good because it's still happening.

Help! Please!

I'm using excel 2003.
In column a, b, and c, I have a series of words. How do I have column d be a summation of all the words. I don't want to merge the cells as I need the original data.

eg column a - this
column b - is
column c - a test today

output in column d would be
this is a test today

I heard somewhere that the slower your computer takes to boot up, the more likely it is your hard drive is in trouble. Is that true?

For my part, it only takes mine 30 seconds to a minute to load.

I have a 500GB SATA hard drive. i was sure to buy a compatible casing to make it external. i plugged it in. it installed the hardware perfectly. the only problem is... it won't show under my computer! this makes it completely useless to me; i can't access it. what do i do?
