I recently purchased a laptop from a pawn shop and was surprised to see that it still has a lot of the previous owners personal info on it. Is there a quick and easy way to get rid of his personal stuff, while keeping the important stuff (Windows, etc)? Or do I basically just have to send whatever I don't want to the recycle bin?

ive got a wireless router
my socket is over the other side of the room and the normal extension cables dont work, my isp has told me not to use extension cables as they cause problems and stop the internet working which they have, i cant rearrange my living room so just wondered if the wireless needs to go into that socket as well

I don't know what my son did to my computer but I can't do system restore, I can't get into any of my icons, I HAD internet explorer and it's been removed and I can't get it back. I no longer have windows and it's a Windows XP system. I can't download AOL or McAfee, my Adobe Reader is gone, seekmo is gone. Even Dell support won't come up. The only way I have access to the internet is through this Mozilla Firefox.

HOW CAN I GET MY SYSTEM RESTORE TO FUNCTION AND HOW DO I GET INTERNET EXPLORER BACK ONTO MY COMPUTER ALONG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE????

Am about to switch to UBUNTU 7.04, but my PCI and windows modems are not recognised. It was suggested to use a serial modem. I use Tesco.net as my dial up ISP. Any help appreciated.

We have four here and only one isn't working. When I try to connect it says that the server is not connected. Everything looks connect to us (we're at work). We pulled up an Advanced System Information Error Log and it says the following: The server could not bind to the transport \Device\NwInkIpx because another computer on the network has the same name. The server could not start. Please help. If you have more specific questions for me, email me.

Any ideas.... i downloaded IE7 then the problems occured. I uninstalled it and still continues to freeze. I've downloaded anti-virus, registry fix, and ad and software removal. Still samd problem. My computer might break pretty soon because i restart it too much. Also, my msn messenger started to act up it takes like three seconds for whatever i type tp appear on my screen. Please any ideas.. I'm on the verge of buying the Norton antivirus or even taking it in to the shop to clean it.

I have tried running virus software, ipconfig, flushdns, release and nothing seems to work. I also messed around with network settings obtain Ip automatically. I just signed up with Time Warner and I know the connection is good I hooked a Laptop up to it and it could access the internet. I just cannot seem to get my pc to work(not wireless network). I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I really do not want to have to reload my system.

I have tried to run a full virus scan normally. but it freezes up every time i run it. i believe i have a virus on my MSN so i right click windows live messenger and scan for viruses. this also freezes. but when i went on safe mode to scan for viruses, it did not find any. why is my smantec virus scan not working?

Hi......
I'm designing a login form using vbscript.....which loads passwords from text files and checks whether the password given by the user matches the password read from the text file.
But, da problem is I don't know how to read data from a textfile........
