I keep getting a pop-up from McAfee that a trojan (vundo) has been detected. It says McAfee has detected an infected file that cannot be repaired. This pop-up will not let me on the internet or anything. Please help I am on a different computer in my house now!!

I was serving youtube yesterday and my computer turned off on me. When I turn on the computer the power button on the harddrive is not lit. But I can hear it running. Any help would be great.

is it safe to turn off my mornitor while my CPU is ON? i do this to conserve electricity. i used to do this with my old monitor. But i bought a new LCD so im afraid, something will happen bad with my LCD if i'll continue doing this.. can u help me guys? thanx!

I just got an EVGA geforce 8500GT and the box says it requires a minimum 400 watt power supply, however on sites like newegg and EVGAs own site, it lists only a minimum of 300w. Which should I believe? here is the link to EVGA, and if you scroll down it lists 300w:

Is there any way to put my screen resoloution back to defauly because mine looks to small after i messed with it. It only lets me slide it to 800 by 600 or 1280 by 720. And there is a number 1 and a number 2 i can click on. Help?

hi everyone
i have a dell dimension 3000, window xp, 160gb hd, cd rw, 1gb mem, 3 ghz.
now the problem i am having is when i start my computer i get this weird message
primary drive 1 not found!
secondary drive 1 not found!
strike the F1 key to continue
F2 to run the setup utility..
i need some help from all the computer geniuses out there. someone please please help me get rid of this message.

On examining i see that a green button on the mother board vgets illuminated and also the CPU sink fan runs but the chasis stills show no power .but mysteriously ,sometimes it runs fine.My computer isan assembled one and it is just 2 months old .

I downloaded the trial version of adobe photoshop cs3. got a working serial number and put it in and it said activated and then all the sudden said license expired. i uninstalled everything, ran the cs3 cleaner from adobe, rebooted then re installed cs3 and the same thing keeps happening. i know a lot of other people have been experiencing this but i have yet to find a answer that solves anything. can anyone help

My dog bit the ac adapter for my brother's laptop into two pieces. I had my resume on there and tomorrow I have an interview and the laptop won't turn on so my brother asked one of his friends if he could borrow their sony ac adapter ...and so he finally managed to find one but the problem is whenever i plug it into an outlet and turn it on at the same time.. it only stays on for a couple of seconds and then shuts down immediately. I don't know what to do because i thought the battery was dead so i got an ac adapter to charge it but how come the laptop only stays on for a couple of seconds as soon as i turn it on. Do you think i need to replace the battery because i know there is surely nothing wrong with the ac adapter or do you think there is something wrong with the laptop???? The battery should re-charge when i plug in the ac adapter to start charging but it doesn't. Help!!I have an inteview and I need my resume off of the laptop today itself.

I have an older PC.I currently have an AMD athlon XP 1800+ 1.53 Ghz.I think i would like to stay within the Athlon XP series just to be sure it will be compatible. How much higher a Athlon XP would i need to notice the difference. (not trying to spend to much)

I have a 3 year old Dell Inspiron 5100, and now runs very slow. I was advised to reload windows, as this will eliminate spyware and cookies from using it for 3 years. I have the reloading disks from dell. How do I reload it? Do I just insert the disks, or do I need to do something else first to ensure a smooth reload?

I dropped off my computer (over 4 months ago!!)to have dc jack replaced. BestBuy calls me up, gives me estimate on replacing keyboard and dc jack. I tell them I do not want the keyboard replaced, just dc jack. They then send 'puter back without repairing it. They call me up tell me 'puter is fixed. When I get 'puter-it is not fixed. They send back to repair center. Repair center calls with estimate- to replace keyboard and dc jack. I ask them once again just do the repair work on the order form.
Once again 'puter is sent back to store unrepaired. (You can't make this stuff up.)I call corporate who assures me that this will be fixed and my repair deposit refunded. The 'puter once again makes a round trip of the USA unrepaired. 3 1/2 months have gone by at this point. Several more calls to geek squad and best buy managers, I get computer back.
The mgr tells me with a smile that they have fixed the dc jack AND replaced hard drive, no charge.All data gone What kind of atty can help me?

I have something in my computer that I cannot get rid of that redirects IE to the advertising pages of ITotalFind whenever I click on a new page. It will not allow me to go where I want to. ITotalfind is an advertising company that should be reported, but I don't know who to report them to or how to get them off my computer. We have disabled cookies and scanned for viruses but nothing seems to help. I have an internet business but am having trouble getting to the places I need to get to. There must be someone to contact that will get this company off the web. Please give me ideas of who to contact and how to get it out of my computer.
