i get this error..usually at start up..and when i use shutdown -a, the box goes away but the computer stops responding..and i cant shut down.
downloaded microsoft malicious software removal tool but it DID NOT detect any threats.
is it some worm? i have AVG antivirus but it didnt detect.
how the hell do i remove this shut down and restart thing..some1 give me step by step instructions please.
i tries so many stuff that ppl said in forums but it still pops-up!

I downloaded a torrent for windows vista only to try windows vista for like a few weeks, I've had it for about a month now on my computer and now it's asking for a valid activation key so it locks up my computer and won't let me access it. I can't find my recovery discs atm so i'm pretty much stuck on a locked vista computer now, I really need help as soon as possible and don't post stupid answers like "you shouldn't have installed vista in the first place" or any stupid answer or I will report it as abuse of getting points, I really need help which is why i came here so please help me with this >.< it did help me decide that windows vista is not any better than media center edition 2005 but worse so i'm not going to buy it or use it anymore. Thankyou

I recently purchased this computer for my dad...but then I borrowed it for an exam before he even got a chance to use it. Now it freezes almost every day for no apparent reason. It doesnt seem to be overheating, I did the fn + power diagnostic test to no avail...I dont know what to do!! please help, I can't return this computer like this!

Okay so i keep getting this stupid error on my computer, the screen will just turn blue, and then it says that there is an error:

*Stop:0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0xF6357a7E, 0xF5355A20, 0x00000000)

then at the bottom is says file dump: and goes up too 100, then just reboots the computer.... it keeps happening in the middle of whatever i am doing! help please does anyone know what this is?

I have had Norton 2006 Security this past year. One day while loading yahoo mail beta I received a notice, "A non-yahoo software program has altered your mail page. Hence yahoo mail can not launch." The only way I can load yahoo mail beta now is by loading it then clicking on the "Try Again" button when it fails to load, or by disableing my Norton 2006 security and be security free. I have followed all the advice from yahoo but can't correct the problem. If I disable my Norton 2006 Security it will load with no problem. Should I pay $70 for Norton 2007? Or use the free Windows Security which came with my computer and I keep disabled while my Norton is enabled. Also I have a choice of using the free security provided by my ISP. I have the same problem with any security enabled when I try to load yahoo mail beta. How do I find out what has altered my mail page keeping Yahoo mail beta from launching. Any help/insight into this problem will be appreciated. Thank you. Peace~:)

I have a Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller)in my computer. I heard that if you graphics card can't support it, the resolution will be bad and the icons size will be huge. Neither will you be able to set it in a higher resolution. I used the windows vista upgrade advisor and it said windows vista home basic is my best bet, however it didn't have any information on my graphics card. So, I was wondering if you guys can help on the decision of installing windows vista home basic only. Could my graphics card handle the cheapest version of vista etleast. If so , can anyone send me some direct links to drivers i can use for vista or anything else that i'm apparently missing...

Note: I do not have the money to buy a new graphics card cause i bought windows vista home basic. Should i install it...

I have netzero dial-up because where I live I cannot get DSL.. I was just wondering how I can make it as fast as possible.. how to make my modem fast as possible and getting my computer to run smoothly because right now my dial up freezes often and is very slow even though i have netzero highspeed and its on the middle setting.... any help would be appreciated!!

I wasn't copying a CD or DVD or anything like that. On the body of that message it says it has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and now must be terminated. When I pushed OK the computor freoze. I restartred my computor and it came up again. This time I tryed to hit x to close the box and the computor screen went blank. I shut it off and started it again and this time just hit internet explorer. It went to my homepage and is actually running faster Than before. but of course microsoft c++ runtime shows on my bottom tray. In other words, I can ignore i and it runs fine. I should mention that I had a vundo virus last night but was told how to delete it. I did that last night, this message didn't come til this morning.
