Of course. If here are some laptops, that would be good for everyday use and won't go over your budget.

yes there is many out there avaialble for under 700 i know u can get a very nice machine for like 699 which is right close to your budget . the best priced retail store i have found Is best buy. also www.bestbuy.com, huge electronic store normally has the lowest prices on top brands, also Best BUy will gladly do a price match, if u find one cheaper. just keep in mind and watch closley many new ones running vista have 512 of ram which is not much memory for Vista, but if you look you can find 1 gig and more such as dvd burners 80- 120 gig harddrive ranging from 599-699 this is prices ive seen my self at Best buy. they carry brands such as gateway, HP, Toshiba, Acer, Sony, aesus, and more. Good luck. also Gateway and Dell have been running alot of special sales latley visit www.gateway.com and www.dell.com. but best buy will normally have the lowest price and they have great service. Good luck.

Absolutely - unless you want state-of-the-art with all the prevailing bells and whistles.

Two months ago I picked up a Toshiba laptop with Vista, only 512mb RAM, for $399 with a printer (free after rebates). I don't do games, videos, or music on my computer so I am more than happy with it. For another $100 or so you can get 2-3 times as much RAM and HD. Look around.
