I have something in my computer that I cannot get rid of that redirects IE to the advertising pages of ITotalFind whenever I click on a new page. It will not allow me to go where I want to. ITotalfind is an advertising company that should be reported, but I don't know who to report them to or how to get them off my computer. We have disabled cookies and scanned for viruses but nothing seems to help. I have an internet business but am having trouble getting to the places I need to get to. There must be someone to contact that will get this company off the web. Please give me ideas of who to contact and how to get it out of my computer.

Start your computer.

Before you open any applications, right click on the Internet Explorer icon.

Left click on properties.

Depending on the version of Internet Explorer, the following steps may differ.

Internet Explorer 7*

Click on delete on browsing history

You have the option of choosing which category you wish to delete or you can use the Delete All option at the bottom.

If you are not sure click on Deleting browsing history link bottom left - read carefully.

If you are using Windows XP, create a recovery point before proceding.

Next; do a search on the names you see in the address field using Start, Search, All files and folders

Example ITotalFind

Read the file names carefully and delete any you think are suspect.

If you are using Windows XP, create another recovery point before proceding.

This is one where you might want to have someone who is computer savy to help you with.

I would strongly recommend you have someone who does this for a living to do this step. You can make your computer inoperatable and unrecoverable if you make a mistake and delete the wrong thing.

Click Start, Run

Type regedit in the Run field

Click OK

1/ Make sure My Computer is highlighted in the left column.

2/ Press the F3 key and type in ITotalFind and click Find Next

3/ When finds ITotalFind you can save it in case it makes your computer unstable by clicking on File, Export.

4/ Save it to a folder to which you can easily navigate.

Keeping repeating steps 1 to 4 until it can no longer find anything. There may be long periods of time between clicking Find Next and it actually finding a match. Be patient for the registry is very large.

Good Luck
