I have been using Photoshop for almost three years now and am very familiar with it, but recently I have been given the job of creating a website as well as a logo for a company.

I wanted to use Illustrator for a vector-based logo, but I do not understand it as well enough as Photoshop. Does anybody know if you can spice up an Illustrator drawing with same effects that can be achieved in Photoshop?

I forgot it and all my other accounts are limited. I also don't have the windows xp recovery disc. I tried websites like loginrecovery.com, etc. but i still can't retrieve my password. I tried the command prompt thing, still won't work.

Ok, I Got Halo 2 this past Saturday.. Before i Installed it i supposedly had 897 MB of RAM on my computer...But the strange thing is...After Installation..I STill Had The Same Amount Of RAM 897MB, and it is installed, I checked. Why didnt My RAM Go Down?

I had just a Radeon 9250 card, which is in one of the PCI slots, but i just got a 9600 card, which is AGP, from a friend, and i installed it into the AGP slot. But the problem is when i change the plug from the monitor from the old card to the newer one nothing shows up on the monitor. anyone know why this does this? What do I have to do?

I installed it when it first came out few years ago but took it out because it slowed down my computer back then. Now I have faster desktop and notebook and I sometimes have hard time remembering where I saved my file.

I didn't like the fact that google desktop was always in my memory. I wasn't comfortable letting a program see all my activities. But now I use google tool bar and google browser sync and gmail...I've assimilated...Now to be completely google headed I guess I need to install desktop search...

My Notebook monitor is heating up. Its just below where the LCD screen is. Its below where Windows Toolbar is.. and above where the F9 key is. It heats up, but you can still touch that area. Should i be worried?

I heard that its just the area where the cords run through to power the moniter up.

On my intel core 2 duo e6700 oced to 3.05 ghz (with thermaltake v1 cpu cooling) I'm getting idle temperatures of 46-48 celsius, and about 62 celsius under load. is this safe?

I currently have an AMD 3500+ on an ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe Mobo (socket 939) and 1GB (2x512 matched pair) Corsair ram with an ASUS Nvidia 7950GT video card (512mb). I have a WD Raptor SATA HDD. Would I see a noticeable improvement upgrading the CPU to the dual core AMD CPU The FX-57 is the fastest chip I can find for the 939, is there a faster socket 939 out there?

Without doing a complete system upgrade, would just this change make a difference in overall performance and games that I would notice? With my current system, it seems to be the most cost effective upgrade at the moment.

I have a vb6 application installed on 3 pc's at a small company. I want to change it to run on the company's LAN (where the access database is stored). It uses an MDI form, embedded MS Word and stores/retrieves registry information for user options. It also can create an excel file and send output to a printer.
What do I have to change?
Is writing something for the Web using ASP forms that same as what's needed for the LAN?
Can the windows forms I wrote be used?
I use VS installer to create the setup.exe, what's used for the LAN?
What about the registry used by the setup.exe and my program It's used on each PC, how will that work with a shared program on the LAN?
Is there a book to explain this?

I have a Compaq Presario 8000Z (pc2100) desktop machine and I did the IDE DPS self-test. The results: "Test failed. Drive replacement recommended."

The model of the dead drive is ST340016A
The firmware is 3.10
Location is Primary Drive 0

Is there a web site that can do for me what Crucial.com does for figuring out the RAM type?

Or, heck, I'm happy to stroll into the local CompUSA with this same information if that works, too.

This happens alot but always not at the same time. Last night it did it time after time. The computer is fairly new (less or about a year old), and its a Compaq laptop. I think it may have overheated a few times cause I rarely shut it down. I have cooled it down and am going to buy a fan if that is the case. Could this be the power source problem? Although it is new, if it is a power source problem, how much would it cost to fix it??
