Should I just buy it from the Windows home site? Any way I could get it cheaper?

I was having issues in seeing a new hard drive and a friend of mine partially installed my version of XP so my PC could see the new hard drive. Now every time I boot up I have to choose between two versions of XP, the partial one and the fully installed one. Any help or instructions would be helpful.

I'm using Hawking HWR54G Hi-Speed Wireless-G Router Revision M. There's a CardBus PC Card that goes along with it.
My desktop computer is connected to the router and it works fine.
I'm trying to set up the laptop but it says "Network cable unplugged" and "Wireless Network Connection 5" (card) not connected.
It's worked before, but at that time, someone configured the router and stuff for me. Recently the laptop was erased (don't know if that means anything) and now I have it back and I can't get the internet to work on it =(

It does this when in use and when idle. Any suggestions on what the problem could be? I have a wireless optical mouse by logitech, ive had it for a while, but it works fine on my laptop, but not desktop.

When I go to the Add/Remove programs list, it shows that the Sims 2 is still there. I have uninstalled it from my computer already. When I click "remove" on the Sims 2 in the Add/Remove programs, it just does nothing. Plus, it says that it takes up 646 MB.

I run on a Dell computer with Windows XP.

I recieved a couple of really good suggestions about how to create a realistic-looking "heat-wave-effect" in photoshop a couple of hours ago and, this reminded me of of another question; Does anyone know how to take text in photoshop and make it appear "ghostly-looking'?? I know how to change the opacity in text to make it more transparent against a background but, what I ALSO need to do is to make it look like glowing smoke with twists, swirls, etc...(again, any links to a photoshop tutorial on this particular subject would be greatly appreciated!) downloaded itself to my computer and I can't remove it.The real problem is the icon on my task bar that keeps saying there are numerous spyware apps runnin. it's not true, the first time I clicked on this icon my spysweeper jumped up and said it was a potentially harmful program. I tried to remove it from the add/remove but its not there. I've run my virus scan and spysweeper but nothing. The icon is called spycrush. Its a shield with a ? mark and an x flashing. If somebody has to remove this. I have also tried to remove it through the start up option where you pick what you want to run at start up! nothing oh and I cant right click it either.

I just bought a new WD hard drive (500GB) and I've installed windows vista on it along with my other WD hard drive (250GB) which has windows XP on it.. how do i set it up to dual boot from the new one to the old one? I set the jumpers right and everything. thanks :)

oh and in order to go from one OS (already installed) to the second one (already installed) I have to move the jumpers from the mother board which is a big problem because I have to open my computers case everytime :(

Ok so im getting a new computer and I want to save all of my pictures and songs.

Im getting one of those flashdrive thing to save it with.
But I dont know what size to get.
Can someone tell me how much 1.50GB + 893KB equals so I can get the right size to hold my stuff with.

A flashdrive is made of two parts. One goes into comp which is also connected to the other part that has your data, right? so the part that connects to comp is disconnected from the other part. I am trying to reattach it but it seems I can't do it.

I have an Alienware Sentia 223 notebook and if i turn it on and then start a program like AIM or the internet, after a few minutes the computer will get hot and then it shuts off. Also if it doesnt shut off the notebook becomes very hot like it sort of burns too touch the under side.

There is this P button right next to the power button and if i press that the computers performance drops to about 50%.

Anybody have any ideas to solve this problems.

I get three or 4 spams a day telling me I have been appointed "trustee" over some foreign bank account or that I have won a lottery or from some poor "widow" trusting me with her money. I have a good security system and spam filter but they just keep coming. This is getting out of hand. HELP!

Does any one know how i can block a web page? I need to stop visiting this one site cause im trying to quit (u get wats going on) but i cant do it my self so wat i was thinking is id get some kinda program that blocked web pages that i want to visit and ill type in a random password and forget it.
