I got some spam. The sender was MY email address. Does this mean my computer is one of those zombie computers spewing out spam? How do you know if it is?

I am quite a novice programmer, so I hope this makes sense. I am trying to write a Windows Application in Visual Basic using Visual Studio 2005 that allows the user to create and study "virtual" flashcards. Each card will consist of a topic/term and details about that topic/term--as with ordinary flashcards. Each card will also belong to a deck(s). Each deck represents related topics and terms. So, for instance if the user wanted to study a chapter in a book, the deck would represent the chapter and each card in that deck would represent the related topics/terms. When the user creates a card/deck, I need a way of storing this information on the end users machine. I don't want the user to have to access a remote database for this, because I don't plan on maintaining one. Is there a good solution for this problem? If so then what?

Just wondering what people are thinking about the firewall found in XP? I'm still debatting on weather I should stick with the windows firewall or purchase a 3rd party firewall.....I would also like to add that my router already supports a basic firewall....So therfore how well am I portected usng this scenario ?

I was wondering if someone could please explain to me how this image might have been created =] now, i already know how to add the background color and letters, and brushes, the only thing i dont know how to do is make the letters flash so if someone could please help me i'd really really appreciate it :) thank you soooo much and remember this is on paint shop pro so thanks again if you need my sn to make it easier just ask =] here's the image:

I'm fed up with Norton anti-virus. It is bloated even beyond Microsoft's comprehension. Ever since installing it on my XP machine, performance has creeped. Email delivery is fickle at best, especially with large attachments.

Here are my requirements:
1) Sleek design requiring little CPU power.
2) Ability to scan incoming email/websites
3) Virus definitions frequently updated
4) Ability to schedule virus updates/system scans (Windows' Task Scheduler is ok, if built-in solution not available)
5) Low price (tool and subscription fees should be reasonable)

I print html and text emails all the time and cannot figure out a way to print them without the gmail logo and small header at the top. Surly there has to be away to just print the email message itself.

The logo and header takes up a lot of extra space and ink and sometime turns a nice 1 page email into a 2 pager.

Any help would be nice.

With all the rebates and discounts I was able to find, I'll be able to build this system for $275. That's the best price I've seen in a long time. I'm kinda vague on how dual cores work compared to single-core, so will this system be a big step up and are there any conflicts I'm not aware of? Thanks!

well for some reason my camera wont connect to the computer

I already checked out all the websites because i need to make my own html to place for my website. But it is so hard to learn. I am also confuse about all these gibberish writings so i have no idea what they are talking about. First i was trying to make a registration form out of html. i bought a dell pc about 4 months ago and it came with windows vista....i wanted xp. i found that vista is not compatible with ALOT!! i wanted to get xp from dell and they said it was 199.99 from them. they also had to install it if i wanted to keep my dell support (that i paid extra for). if i istalled it on my own i would no longer get the dell support, anyways my pc didnt come with a disc to wipe its memory either...could i buy xp fom best buy and put it on myself?? how do i erase the pc without the disc to do so?? any help would be appreciated!!
