I want to search my hard drive for deleted or hidden pictures I know are there but I can't find them. Some are over a year missing.

Have you tried the search command? Do you know the folder name or picture name, use that for the search.

If they were deleted you will have a difficult time bring them back, when files are deleted the computer put an archive bit in front of the name or as the first letter a symbol and they won't show up.

Some of the programs in Symtec Norton Suite can deal with the hard drives at it level. But that should be used by someone who knows what they are doing.

It would take some time to explain all the possible ways of doing things using a computer. Most people would just find the properties for the hard drive and unhide all the directories and files. This can get them into trouble not knowing what they are doing and crash their computer.

you have the best search engine already there you just need to know how to use it

go to start, click on search... in the search bar enter your search....

*.jpg
*.img
*.txt
*.exe

now this is what is known as wild card searches cause you don't know the file name but you might know the extension..

bring up search and go into help it will explain things
