HTML is the simplest language ever if there's someone who can guide you step by step!!! So, here's the link to one of the best websites teaching HTML with examples and explanation.
http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp
You can access different sections of HTML (like forms, images, background, colors etc.) directly from the menu shown left side on that page.
I'm sure you won't find it hard at all, take my words! And good luck.
Hope it helps you.

#1 - Don't listen to the guys who are talking about Perl and throwing out crazy words that aren't going to help you. HTML is not a programming language, it's a mark-up language. So take comfort in knowing that for the most part, it's not going to change. Once you memorize it, you've got it - kind of like 2+2.
#2 - Guy above me is right - w3schools.com is definitely a great place for tutorials. But with tutorials, you have to devote the time to sit down, read them and fully get a grasp on what they're trying to teach you.
#3 - Relax. Start small. Make something simple and then gradually build onto it. You don't have to necessarily use one website as a resource for everything. Start your page and then as you progress use Google to look up specifics. For example, search for "html form" when you get ready to build your form so that you can slough off all the stuff you now already know.
#4 - If you need serious advice because you're on the verge of a nervous breakdown, email me - I used to be a corporate trainer in web development.

I haven't seen a good website for teaching html, but I read a couple good books. The basics are this...
Sample Website
You need to put a
to make a new paragraph.
then as you get more complex, you can change the colors of the background and text, and add graphics. Hope this helped!

One of the great things about HTML is that if you see something cool on a site, you can View Source in your web browser to see what code is used, and often copy that code and try to reproduce its functionality.
You might want to start with a book like "HTML For Dummies" and go from there if it's confusing. They may start you off more gently than many so-called "beginner" tutorials online.

No, HTML is very easy to learn. You only need to remember certain tags which is used to build HTML documents.

On the contrary, those people who created HTML thought it would be an easier language than C or C++ or Java/Javascript. Those were the most common languages used until the invention of HTML for the Internet. I've tried to learn HTML too, but it's too complex: too many tags!
IMHO, PHP, Perl (with or without CGI), Ruby, XML or Python would be easier than HTML or DHTML?!
Perl is so flexible: You could use a 100 line code in Java or a 15 line code in Perl. But you could further reduce this 15 line Perl code to a 1 line code. Perl programmers called this 1 line code what? a one-liner. Why would you bother with 100 lines of code when you could do the same with a one-liner?!

Go buy a dummie's guide to HTML code. It helps a lot, I use it for reference. But as the previous poster suggested, try Dreamweaver (which isn't complicated at all in my opinion) or FrontPage.
http://www.adobe.com for Dreamweaver and
http://www.microsoft.com for FrontPage
Both offer a free 30-day trial period. Both as well have wizards that can help you create the forms you are needing.
Good luck.

Well, the truth is, HTML is the easiest programming language to learn.
There are lots of sites wherein they offer tutorials, but most of them are hard to understand. I prefer that you use Microsoft FrontPage to make your webpages for your website.
Yup, this software automatically generates HTML codes as you design your page, but what I pointing out is you design your page and view the source code in the source tab. You'll know about that when you have FrontPage.
Just install it in your computer and do experiments out of it. That is just my strategy in learning HTML back in highschool.
If you don't have a copy or don't want to use FrontPage, try Dreamweaver. It's almost the same, but a little bit more complicated.
I suggest you download trial versions first of those two softwares. Just make a Google search to find them.
