Just wondering what people are thinking about the firewall found in XP? I'm still debatting on weather I should stick with the windows firewall or purchase a 3rd party firewall.....I would also like to add that my router already supports a basic firewall....So therfore how well am I portected usng this scenario ?

A good firewall is esential, and no need to pay as Comodo Firewall is a excellent choice, plus its free

Windows Firewall SUCKS. Well, it only provides inbound protection. Meaning, it won't scan the programs that are going to internet. Thats important because if a trojan infected your computer and is asking for internet, you would never know.
Use
ZoneAlarm Free/Pro.
Pro way better, but Free is still the best Free firewall there is

Windows built in firewall is weak in the sense that it only defends on inbound attacks, and does not monitor or defend on outbound attempts.. You should select a firewall that covers inbound/outbound detection. I use Sygate Free Firewall it does a superb job, so does Zone Alarm Free Firewall, either one will do the trick, Do NOT rely on Windows Firewall to keep you safe, it will FAIL..

you pay the price for windows and the firewall that comes with it is nothing to talk about. I'm used to routers and port forwarding. Not gonna change.

windows firewall isn't gud
it really does nothing at all
get norton
or zone alarm
they are gud firewalls and protect u from hackers
get both
zone alarm will back up norton
