The A drive is usually for the floppy disk, C drive for the main drive, D drive for cd roms, E drive for ipods and stuff. But why no B drive?

I know there's a command (that obviously I forgot) through which you can instant message computers in the networkl through MS-DOS (Command Prompt). If anyone knows what to command is please let me know.

I cannot use the cmd, msconfig commands, and I am not able to ping anything. It keeps telling me that this is not a win32 application. I searched this error, and it tells me that those are symptoms of the alcan.a virus. I have Norton 360, and a scan shows that my system is clean. I dont know what to do. I am running windows XP home edition. Any suggestions?

I have a Toshiba laptop. It has crashed on me twice, and I'm beginning to think it's the computer and not the possibility of a Virus. I have Virus protection with Norton AntiVirus 2007. Can you recommend any brand of Laptop better? I use it as a home computer, have wireless internet, and on occasion lug it around with me when I'm out. I want something that isn't susceptible to crashing every year. Thanks. =)

I own a XFX 680sli motherboard and I am interested in buying nVidia graphic cards on eBay because it's cheaper. I am a 3D animator and need power and speed with the best resolution possible. However, many of the cards for the Quadro FX series cards listed on eBay are so called "Dell" dedicated. Will this post a problem if I buy it and try using it on an nVidia XFX? Dell doesn't produce the card nVidia does. What I find suspicious is that the many sellers of this card do not offer refunds of any kind. There are a few who do however. Any suggestions would be appreciated as well as purchasing advice or component suggestions.

It has to run on Windows, and be able to be updated from the web. I want to publish a website with restaurant listings with pix and info, and maybe votes. I have fairly good knowledge of HTML, and graphic editing, but i fail miserabily in the database programming part of it. My host server runs on UNIX, so i preferably would like something PHP/MySQL related, but are open to other productive solutions.

I have vista and i wonder if it is worth buyin a Direct X 10 card or buy a dirext X 9 Graphics card. That being said Direct X 9 was released in 2003 i think... and I have heard that investing into old technology is not worth it, no matter the price, since it will become obsolete quickly.eg buyin a AGP motherboard...
