A little, but you should know that Vista Premium is a bit resource hungry. Right now I have the internet and my messenger open and my memory usage is at 836 megs. It I open a couple of programs, it will be upwards of a gig. So If you decide to go with Vista I would consider adding ram.
BTW, this Vista install has been running since last Feb. and I have had no problems at all. It is smooth, fast, and very stable.

Everything I've read and heard from every computer geek I've dealt with says that Vista is not a functional operating system yet and to put it bluntly - 'sucks'. I would suggest sticking with XP until Vista has been out at LEAST 18 months and they've worked out the bugs.

Additionally - alot of periphials (including your video card) are not working well with Vista, so people are switching to Vista, and then switching back to XP b/c of that very problem.

Good luck.

Wow, effective rig! nicely, right this is the deal: XP professional x32 is a examined and tried OS that a lot of video games have been designed for, and it has few themes enjoying abode windows 9x era video games. on the different hand, Vista abode top classification x64 is sixty 4-bit, helps DX10, and (in my journey), is greater sturdy (XP SP3 vs Vista SP1). even although, the RAM utilization of Vista is heavy. video games won't run nicely with purely 2GB (with 4GB, you would be nice). the main suitable answer could be a twin boot. installation XP in the initiating, making use of a million/2 the no longer easychronic area. Then, installation Vista. it fairly is going to immediately substitute the boot supervisor to permit you to %. an OS at boot time. That way you are able to appreciate abode windows Media midsection, MovieMaker HD, and so on. in Vista and greater modern-day DX10 video games, and have XP to play DX9 and older video games. desire this facilitates!

it would not perform faster, vista is a much bigger and takes much more memory and system resources to run. it has a bunch of new bells and whistles that you may like and it looks pretty cool, but it would not be faster in terms of processing time at all. plus, it still has some bugs, xp is more dependable at this time.
