You are asking to compare two different operating systems and hardware. From a hardware perspective, both systems are reliable. From an operating system perspective though, this would be like comparing apples and oranges. They are both useful and have their strengths/weaknesses but without knowing how you intend to use it, I can't say which would be better for you. I would tend to go with the HP notebook if you intend to run common applications that are Microsoft Windows only. Mac does offer the ability to run "BootCamp" (basically a multi-boot or a virtual machine) to run Microsoft Windows so you can get the best of both worlds too.

Well when you 'had' to evaluate the ones 2, then Apple is often greater. Though HP's been doing exceptional satisfactory in recent years. I occur to make use of each Mac's and PC's, and even as Mac's do have their pleasant matters, there is many matters that I nonetheless dislike approximately utilizing a Mac, that I use a PC so much regularly this present day. If you are going to get a Mac, you must recognise that: a million) Most of your methods may not paintings - so all that cash you paid on CD methods may not paintings. And program that you have regularly used on Windows could now not paintings both. two) Don't be amazed via the fee tag - I nonetheless suppose Apple sells their stuff greater than they must be, however it's satisfactory. But PC's with related specifications are often inexpensive. three) Bugs - Don't pay attention to humans who says it really works best. I've had many problems with Leopard that I went again to Tiger. So did many different humans, judging via the boards. four) No upgradability - if you purchase an iMac, it could be rough to improve constituents with out breaking it. I'd advocate getting a Sony Vaio even though. They're the exceptional computer systems in the market. In truth, even Apple has copied a few of their designs, like incorporated webcam and the fashionable chiclet keyboard. Among different matters. Sony additionally has satisfactory, and it is quite well. But I bet HP is well. Thing is, is that I quite simply do not like OS X.

well i have two roommates each has an ho laptop. one has never had problems with it and loves it, but my other roommate wasnt so fortunate he studies landscape architecture and he was between an hp and a mac. he decided to go with the hp b/c the hp with all the specs he needed was cheaper then the mac and more landscape architecture companies use PC still. however he has had a lot of trouble with his hp and has sent it in to get fixed twice including one time losing all of his data lucky he backed it up. i have a mac and i havent had any real problems, but which is better is hard to say. i use my mac for lots of graphical uses, which is what it is really good for and i think that it is a good all around computer as well. personally i'd go with the mac b/c i kno someone who had trouble with an hp and it lends to what i like to do. your choice in computer should lend to what you use it for as well, but as i said earlier i think mac makes a better product, plus their customer service is great

Different hardware, different operating system. Depends what you will use it for.
What I really like about Macs is that viruses are designed more for Windows vulnerabilities and do not attack Macs yet
