I had gotten a new PC lately and wish to transfer my data out of my hdd from the old PC. But had realised the USB ports arent functioning properly. The old PC doesnt have a RW drive. Is there any ways for me to get the data out of my old PC?

One night i was on the laptop and i accidently turned it off (the power cable is a bit dodgy) when i went to restart the laptop the screen was blank however there was a very thin blue line down the right of the screen, whilst booting this is all i saw, there was no picture or anything.

Also while booting i pressed F2 to see if i could see anything in the settings to fix it and there wasn't anything, i could see the settings on the screen though which makes me think that it isn't the screen that has gone.

Any ideas if this can be fixed?

I paid for a 3 mnth subscription to Norton a month or so back, but before I turned it on (I thought it was on but turns out it was not) then someone convinced my that Zone Alarm Security Suite was excellent and would be compatible with Norton so I bought it. Straight away it was not compatible, so I never ran the Norton..

I have been having issue after issue, problem after problem, cant download stuff, cant use remote assistance, cant use internet explorer, cant update anitvirus definitions on Zone Alarm, cant download site builders, to name a few.

I now want to turn ZA off and use my Norton subscription for the next couple mnths before it expires, while I wait for the puter tech to come over and sort this out.

I dont know if Norton installed properly to start with, so how do I find out if its working, and turn it on, so I can f*ck this ZA off and remain protected until the tech comes out to have a look?

I need to see if ZA is causing all this ****.

I have a HP 2015AP aka Compaq Presario V2000.
I have just put in 2G of RAM but feel it's time to upgrade the rest.
I want to get a bigger processor, hard drive and update the vid/graphics too.
Which of these are upgradable and how do I tell them apart from desktop items when buying online?

I am sorry but I absolutely love myspace and so many people are trying to get it shut down.

So my question really is, what is so different between Chat rooms on Excite, MSN, Yahoo, ect as well as BEBO, Friendster, and the rest of that stuff like messengers and crap!????


Explain that to me!
That is how I keep in contact with many family members because that way I dont have to pay for long distances and post constant pictures and dont have to delete them.

I am facing some problem at my VPN Server. My Isb gave me ture IP pool and also Router Ip address too . When i put the Ip address my other PUblic card than i wont telnet at the Router. Even when i disable my Public card than i telnet the ISB Router. Why i dont telnet when i enable my both card Private or Public .But i am telnet the Isb Router at my Client end. i am using Speed Touch Thomson 510 model Router and modem its four Eth ports .

Right now I have an ubuntu server machine working as linux router and having weird issues with it. If i'm working with the machine, such as using samba, nfs, http or ssh on it, approximately every minute the connection freezes between the linux router with ubuntu and the client computer. I'm pretty sure it's not NIC issues since I can still do web activities, the computer keeps on routing (even with internet radio, ssh freezes but music doesn't). Activitiy from the server to the client pretty much stops for about 30 seconds and then resumes.
Any ideas on what could this be?

Hi all,
I recently subscribed to RoadRunner (Time Warner's High-Speed Internet Service) and I'm interested in purchasing a router that will wirelessly distribute the connection around our apartment to enable allow access from anywhere within the confines of it. I want to be able to receive the best quality signal in each room and ultimately have security enabled on it. I also want to keep it well below $100, and any help would be appreciated.
