One night i was on the laptop and i accidently turned it off (the power cable is a bit dodgy) when i went to restart the laptop the screen was blank however there was a very thin blue line down the right of the screen, whilst booting this is all i saw, there was no picture or anything.

Also while booting i pressed F2 to see if i could see anything in the settings to fix it and there wasn't anything, i could see the settings on the screen though which makes me think that it isn't the screen that has gone.

Any ideas if this can be fixed?

Thanks for your time.

OS may have been corrupted. In case you are using Win XP, you could try a repair w/ this:

All your files and programs will be intact. Worked for me 3X in different PCs and w/ one of our peers here.

Reformat is only a last resort and for the desperate.

WHen your laptop gets past the initial boot try to press F8 and try to do a last known good config...if you can see it.

Send me a message if that doesn't work.
