X1950 is the best right now for ATI. There will be AGP Directx10 cards, but there are none available right now.

No there isn't, you have to buy one with a PCI Express slot for that .( directx10) Nvidia has a 7600 series model that is AGP that is pretty fast... probably double that of a 6800 which was the last AGP Generation. It's cool they did these though even if it is limited.
You have to Vista Operating system as well for directX 10 . Things arent going so well from what I've read, they are coming out slowly so maybe the 7ooo series would hold you over a while .
Here is a link, have a look. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048+1069609639&name=AGP+4X%2f8X

I dont suppose they have a DX10 AGP card. The older systems will not be able to run these types of games. Upgrade to a PCI express board with a cpu socket that is going to last like LGA775 (Intel) or AM2 (AMD).

ahh! some research: The new graphics boards are Sapphire Radeon HD 2600 XT (800MHz/1400MHz core/memory) with up to 512MB of GDDR3 memory, HD 2600 Pro (600MHz/1000MHz core/memory) with up to 512MB GDDR3 memory onboard and HD 2400 Pro (525MHz/800MHz core/memory) with up to 256MB of GDDR2 memory onboard, all featuring ATI Rialto bridge, which allows GPUs originally architected for PCI Express to work on platforms supporting AGP 4x or 8x.

So its an PCI-E card with an AGP converter? Why would you do that?

Currently, the best would be 7950GT and X1950 Pro AGP cards.
But new DX10 AGP cards are coming from ATI.

Just be sure that you have a power supply with strong +12V rail; dual rail is best.

Among the best AGP cards are the Nvidia-based 6600GT or the 7800GS. THey provide excellent frame rates and quality.

DX10 graphics cards are in PCI-E.
