I need help with this- I can't get my ipod to work on my new Vista computer. I have upgraded iTunes and nothing is working. Help!

I've just purchased a new Dell computer which has only USB ports for printers.

I've purchased a USB to Parallel Port cable to attach from my new computer's USB port to my old dot matrix printer's parallel port.

Here's my problem(s):

1) I'm running a DOS based accounting program which can only find LTP ports. It is not an option to find USB ports. So, I can't print. HELP!

2) I cannot print from a Windows based program into the old dot matrix printer (yet it will print to a new dot matrix printer). HELP!

We just purchased a used ibook. We keep having to reset our wireless security settings so our ibook can go on line. Is this something to do with the ibook or something to do with our router. Everytime the ibook goes to sleep we have to reset the settings. Help!

I have recently been getting into digital video making and I have totally run out of hard disk space on my computer. What is the best way of handling the huge video files without using all of my hard disk space. Its easier to do things like movie making when the files are in the computer, is it not?

I am going to buy a laptop for graduate school. I will be carting it to school with me every day so would prefer something lighter if at all possible. I also need something that isn't too terribly slow. I don't need anything that has lots of memory since I am using it simply for internet, applications like Word and Powerpoint and that's about it! Whenever I try to open the Control Panel, it closes by itself as soon as I open it. Its up for about half a second and then closes. How do I make it so it will stay up. And it doesn' allow me to right click on the shortcut.

Hi there,

I am searching for a reliable dedicated hosting company that will be able to meet the needs of my future music site. On my site, users will be able to upload/ download mp3's as well as upload photos. I am not entirely sure what I am going to need in terms of plans, or how many page views(est: >300,000)/ mp3 downloads I will be getting a month, but know that I want to be on the safe side, and insure that there will not be a server overload, allowing at least several hundred people to access the site at the same time, without it slowing down. Users will be able to preview music as well , and I want to make sure that this function works smoothly without having connection issues due to too much activity at any given time. I am not entirely sure how many users will be uploading music, however, I am estimating that I will have over 50 GB of music on the site. I need a cost-effective solution, but do not want to cut corners with a plan that cannot support the site. Thank you!

which are tools used by hackers to attack a system from a remote location and 16 spyware and it still has to check 2/3rd of the computer. It wants $13 to renew. I did this at someone's suggestion due to very slow computer. I am on a small income and though I could if really necessary pay..if I can remove these free somehow and restore my computer speed, it would help.

It started acting slow in the last week but I am reluctant to do a system restore as I o not want to lose all my recent files I did and can't find which are recent and which are old to copy to email or something.

I think maybe it is related to downloading torrents from torrentz. One download took 48 hours and I deleted and did some more of the same show from different places and none had sound. I have removed them all.

I have done several checks on my adaware, avg free, avg antispyware and also have spywareblaster.

What might I do..especially in regards to these hacking tools which have me worried..anywhere to remove

I currently have an 80 gig hard drive and I will be getting a new 250gig Hard drive and I need to know how or what can I use to make the new HDD an exact copy of the old one. Such as programs, product keys, documents...etc anyone have any ideas?

I put an ad on an internet website for cleaning services. A man e-mailed me and told me he would send me a check n a key to his apartment so I can clean it once while he is away. Stupidly, I gave him my full name and address. I didnt relieze it was spam until later on. Does anybody know what could happen next!? Im very scared.

I am starting college in the fall and I need a reliable laptop to use. I'm looking for somthing with wireless internet, a decent amount of memory, somthing that can burn CD's and plays DVD's, and somthing that I wont go insane over it being slow. I don't do any sort of gaming so no need to bother with that. Just looking for something that wont break easily. If you guys could give me some ideas that would be great.

The cheap laminate on my computer desk is starting to show signs of wear from the mouse sliding on it. Any suggestions on what makes a good mouse pad for a laser mouse? I was thinking of getting another thick sheet of laminate or formica and put on top of the worn one.
