I've just purchased a new Dell computer which has only USB ports for printers.

I've purchased a USB to Parallel Port cable to attach from my new computer's USB port to my old dot matrix printer's parallel port.

Here's my problem(s):

1) I'm running a DOS based accounting program which can only find LTP ports. It is not an option to find USB ports. So, I can't print. HELP!

2) I cannot print from a Windows based program into the old dot matrix printer (yet it will print to a new dot matrix printer). HELP!

Common problem I see regularly with new computers, esp. Dell, their 'new' technology direction really sucks, no LPT, no PS/2, makes life so damn difficult for us.

You need a PCI Parallel card with jumpers, so you can set the LPT port numbers manually.
They should be about $20-$30

ur question is a bit complicated. As u said "If the "many worlds" theory of quantum mechanics is proven to be true, we will be able to use quantum computers to communicate with people in parallel universes. but there is a problem in this answer, since each universe of a parallel universe differs from each other both intrinsically and extrinsically the thing u said may not be possible. It is so because laws of nature would also differ from universe to universe so the same law wont work in all tha universes. Regards Harish.

I have now progressed up to a print server.

OK, not to be a smarty pants with a smarmy answer here, but maybe consider getting a different accounting program?
