Most likely she clicked on the mute button which kills the sound. That is easy to undo.

There is also a sound system diagnostic she can run to do a test of the card and the settings.

Yeah, like a majority of the people here say you probably have your speakers burnt up. Use some external speakers for a while, and if your laptop is still under warranty you could turn it in for repair.

turn it off, and wait for it to cool down, then restart it. if they dont work still, try turning up the volume/unmuteing it. go to the control panel, sound and audio devices. and uncheck the mute box. click on advanced and rais the bars higher, and make sure none of them are muted.

if there is not sound and audio options, or you cant access any volume controls, your driver may have been uninstalled. try scanning for new hardware.

I was going to type that she probably hit the mute button in error. I see it's already posted though. Oh well, I'll still get my two points at least.

you ought to use pc continually like workers use in MNC. you could shop the AC or Ceiling fan ON on a similar time as utilising pc. and likewise you could shop pc on a flat floor through fact warmth will bypass from the backside of the pc. those 2 issues could be carried out.

God, it must be awful to do computer tech support. You didn't even specify what operating system your friend uses, for Christ's sake.
