I have an older model gateway computer and I cant find where to put my digital camera memory card... its not on the front of the computer, I don't see where to put it...

I sit at a desk in front of a computer and answer typical questions all day. Dont get me wrong it doesnt get any more simple than this but I am so bored. I am a college student and I do ALL of my homework here and still have time on my hands. Any good game sites?

I would prefer to just fix it myself, but have yet to start disecting it to find out whats wrong with it. All I know right now is that lightning struck and it shut off and now it won't turn on. What are the most likely causes/parts effected to make this happen? Does the surge it experienced leave any physical damage or some way of me to visually tell which parts have been affected when i do disect it to find out whats wrong? I've kinda just been assuming its the motherboard but not sure how to tell if it really is short of buying a new one for a couple hundred and hoping it works (I don't like that option). Thanks for any and all advice.

I built my computer using an AMD Athalon 3200+ processor.
It is a Socket A processor.
I would like to upgrade the computer without suffering additional expences. I would like to upgrade the processor to a Core-Duo. The Core Duo however uses a Socket 775 processor. This is not compatible with my motherboard. Is there a way I could buy an adater to put between the 775 processor and socket A motherboard? Do you think it will work?

the labtop just shut down on its own tried to restart and it wont it only works on safe mode so tryed the system restore and it wont work eather so i tried booting from last nown good configutation and wont work eather

I'm very confused. I have an IBM thinkpad laptop and when I type, sometimes my fingers hit the wrong keys and I somehow end up hitting a couple that makes the words type in backwards. Like "hello" ends up coming in as "olleh"?? The only way I know how to UNdo this is to restart my computer.

Anybody happen to know what keys I'm hitting so that I can stop doing this? LOL

i currently have norton anti virus, i switched on one day and instead of welcome christine, i was greeted with welcome giselle ? this has led me to question my security. im a novice so i asked for advice at my local currys store and was told norton is rubbish and slows your system down. they recomended McAfee, i found this strange as i bought the laptop from them with 3mths free norton on it ? all advice most welcome thamks chris,

Not to offend anyone, but if I'm not mistaken this area of yahoo answers is titled "Programming and Design," and so far all I'm seeing here are questions completely unrelated to that. I believe this area would be very useful for people like myself that want to ask technical questions about programming, software development strategies, tools, code, cool algorithms, etc.

So once again I pose the questions - why are most of you people asking questions about Myspace, photoshop, word, excel, and a myriad of such questions here?

I'm 24 and want to make video games my new career.
I've been going to college for the past 5 or so years (last major was science so I'm used to hard work and studying) and recently dropped out for some health issues not to mention did not like where I was headed.
I thought to myself, if I won the lottery, what would be my ideal career...video game design.. so why not do what I love even if I didn't win the lotto?

I have zero experience, but would love to go to a school. Maybe even work for Nintendo. Can anyone tell me what kind of career path there is?

I have heard things like there isn't much job security, which I'm not all that much worried about at the moment but I always figure if I work hard I'll be one of the best and won't have to worry about being one of the ones to get laid off. I'm ambitious and want to make it to the top anyway.

Of course this would be a career in doing something I love for a living, so I only ask for a means to have a comfortable life...

Just one page, I added a boarder to it and when I print preview or even try to print, the bottom of the page is missing.

I get an error that says "the page boarders are outside the printable area of the page".

I have tried to change the margins, footers, you name it.
