On Windows XP, why don't my open programs appear on my task bar? How do I make them appear?

You should set these settings:

Right click the taskbar... Properties; then
Uncheck group similar taskbar buttons
Uncheck lock the taskbar
Uncheck hide inactive icons
Uncheck auto-hide the taskbar
Uncheck hide inactive icons
CHECK Keep the taskbar on top of other windows
CHECK Show Quick Launch

That should do it!

Write click on your taskbar and select properties all the information is under there. If this doenst work try opening up the control panel and explore from there. Or you could just reinstall XP

Hey there

Try and right click the bottom bar and from the list click properties ... I think if you look at the general tab you probably have ticked auto hide .. just untick it and select always on top instead :-)

not a lot of programs do that. you could try looking in the programs preferences or the control panel.

it depends on the Program that you are using..
and there are times, it will stay on the System tray (lower right of your screen..) if the program is minimized..

reformat the pc and reinstall window xp
