How do I change the manner in which my computer downloads? It appears that it is goes to the desktop, and that isn't necessarily what I want. I think that is why I am having so much difficulty downloading programs - instant messanger, music, etc. I have changed settings (SSL, which I have never heard of), and I am still having problems. Is there something I am missing? The control panel has been my nemesis for two days!

The .com domain I want is currently taken. I found that it doesn't expire for another year... I need a website in the meantime.

The domain is available with a .net extension... So my question is, in your opinion, would it be more effective to get a.net domain or a similar .com with an added word?

Example: www.johnsmith.net OR www.justjohnsmith.com

after on my desktop one day it just started running real slow, after a week trying to figure out what the problem was i could not find anything, so i backed up everything and reformatted and installed a fresh copy of windows xp pro, well after 5 hrs it was finally complete still slow as it was before the reinstall. it has a pentium 2.0 ghz and 512 ram 120g hard drive and overall it is an ok computer that should run so so much faster than what it does, also i changed the hard drive with a new one after the reinstall and there was the same problem, i am thinking it might b my power supply but wouldnt it not work at all if my power supply is bad? so please tell me what is the problem with my desktop.

It is a toshiba satellite, supposed to be hardwearing, i have switched it off, and mopped up the juice from it, but i am terrified i have ruined it. Will it dry out, and function again? Has anyone else done this, and did it work again? I am on daughters pc to ask this.

What I mean is...I take a lot of on-line surveys. I just started. I was thinking about doing some trial offers as to make more cash, but I'm afraid of getting screwed over by the company not letting me cancel within the trial period. has that ever happened to anybody...or have you had pretty good experiences in doing that?

When I right click on an icon , how do I add more choices to the Send To Menu? When I right click on my Startup folder, why does it show nothing, but in Help & Support, in Advanced System Info, there are so many listings it is ridiculous? I have Hidden Files checked so that I can see them. I did not check System files. Will that expose the contents of the Startup Folder?
