Go to your profile and place your real name as private and not public. Make sure your screen name is public and not private. At the bottom or top select save. Go back to your IM to make sure in the options section that your name is on as private!

Go to the messanger list then click on My contact Details and in the nickname field, type the name which you want to be appeared on your username. Now that name will appear instead of your username when you are chatting with somebody. And please award me those 10 points now. I need them desperately. But try my method first, Give me the points only if it works

Go to yahoo messenger/ messenger/ preference/ appearance and click nickname or first & last name
