how do i activate windows when it wont accept my product key?

i had this same trouble when i upgraded to a new hard-drive,what you have to do is,when it says on your computer let's activate windows over the internet press ok and it will give you a set of numbers which you have to write down,then phone microsoft which is a free number and tell them the first set of numbers,and maybe the last set, they will then tell you to press product key change on your computer,when you press this another set of numbers will appear,give the first set of numbers over on the phone,and the person on the other end will give you the corresponding numbers to fill in the boxes to activate windows.I hope this is some assistance to you.

Use the correct product key and not dodgies copies bought off the carboot

wont accept my product key,
make sure the caps lock is off & try again
you need to type in the product key as it is but dont use cap letters

you cant. check the key and go back oto the suppliers of the computer / software

bcall microsoft is your best bet and if you can prove you brought it legit then you have a good chance of geting a new copy or code

sounds like you have an illegal copy. You need to call microsoft and get a live person to validate what you have.
