They are the same speeds, will it make any difference or effect the performance in any way if i do so?

if your laptop supports that much memory, then yes...but check your manual and see what's the maximum amount of RAM you can use...remember you'd have a total of 1280mb, if you're laptop supports up to 1½GB or 2GB then you're good to go

If they're both the same speed, go for it. I have a 256 MB and 128 MB in here right now, and it works fine.

Check with crucial.com to assure that your getting the proper memory for your computer. Consult with your owner's manual to see what the maximum memory is for your computer. If you don't have the manual, go to the web site and get it there.
