i can not connect. I have went to limewire and tried to ask why and you cannot ask them a ? and I found out if you don't have limewire pro then I cannot ask them ? So I checked the can't connect link and followed the directions on windows firewall, but it didn't work. So now I am searching for another firewall and cannot find one. Can anyone help me figure out anything that will help? Or even where I can find out? Thanks

I was wondering if writer creates the content of ideas for a web page. and then the programmers make the code. For example say I am building a page about a rock, would a come up with the decription and info on the rock or would a writer do it.

I swear, it feels like I installed some type of spyware on my PC. I am using Yahoo Messenger with Voice and every once in a while, I come home to my PC being ridiculously slow. I took a screenshot of this, and I cannot figure out what a chat program - that isn't being used - needs so many resources for.

My internet has been really ghetto lately. Data is transferred only while the mouse is moving, and I've done multiple tests to ensure the speed is related to the mouse movement and not just coincidental. I've scanned for malware/spyware and I've even used Ethereal to sniff out my packets. Everything looks normal, aside from my router constantly asking who owns what IP address on our network (but this is normal for our router, according to the documentation). It's a 2wire router on an AT&T DSL connection with a Kensington usb mouse.

The same problem occurs on the other computer on the network, but not to my extreme (only a few kb/sec lost when mouse is stationary).

Hey guys i have DSL from SBC yahoo to be exact. Anywho i have a laptop that runs on a pentium processor with 512 MB memory and yeah i dnt know if this information makes the question easier to answer but HERE IS MY QUESTION:

My internet seems like an ok speed to load the pages and download things and all BUT !! ... is there anyway to speed it up. i already called them (the internet company) and they said that they changed my speed to a higher faster one BUT i cant tell the difference!! ..

Is there anyway i can make it faster??

Please serious answers i am serious about this and would appreciate it if i got real answers. PLEASE!! ... thanks :]

Having self-taught myself about html, c, c++, and basic graphic design, I'm looking to stretch my wings farther. I've got experience doing quite a few websites for friends and local organizations. I've designed and built two mud games (one from the ground up using SocketMud - barebones code).

I'm hoping to learn more about 3d graphics and visual game design. I can't afford to go back to school for another year or two. In the mean time, if I could get a little self-taught learning in and maybe even build up a portfolio it would help.

Any advice on what programs I should download or websites I can read up about game design, graphical game programming ect?

Hello there everyone im trying to learn more about computers. i want to buy a new laptop and am trying to figure out if someone can explain to me the difference between Celeron, Pentium, Athalon, and Duron. I have no idea what the differences in them is. I just know when i bought my 1st one 2 years ago i thought Pentium was the best cause i had heard from someone (who knew nothing about computers) that its the fastest, now is that true?? i dont know thats why im hoping you guys can help me understand the differences between them.

Also another thing what is Centrino>>? i heard something about it dealing with wireless netwoking but im not sure so if someone can explain theat to me also that would be AWSOME!!

I have bought a new game and it won't run on my computer.i have a 512 mB RAM with 40 Gb space and enough to install the game.But it asks for a Nvidia FX GE force 5500 graphic card.I do not have that.when i visited Nvidia web site i found it allowed downloads of various drivers.Should have to download the drivers to play the game or should i have to contact my computer engineer and ask him to fit a new card into my processor.Please help me.Tell me what i should do.

Basically my old computer was dead and only the hard drive survived. A repair guy turned it into an external drive. Now I have a new computer (both the new and old are Dell laptops, Windows XP). How do I transfer everything over? I've got it hooked up with the USB, but now what?

how much does it cost to get the power supply fixed? my laptop shuts down on its own and now somethings wrong with the power supply/battery coz even when the ac power is plugged in the battery sometimes doesnt charge and sometimes the light that indicates that ur laptop is plugged in the ac is not coming on. pls help:(

I currently get internet from Charter Communications.
Whenever I do a tracert, I first go from charter.com to qwest.net to the location
For example, If I type in tracert www.yahoo.com
It would ping charter.com several times, then qwest.net a couple times and then it would ping yahoo.com

Does anyone know what exactly tracert does? and why I would ping to qwest first before pinging the website I want to?
