My internet has been really ghetto lately. Data is transferred only while the mouse is moving, and I've done multiple tests to ensure the speed is related to the mouse movement and not just coincidental. I've scanned for malware/spyware and I've even used Ethereal to sniff out my packets. Everything looks normal, aside from my router constantly asking who owns what IP address on our network (but this is normal for our router, according to the documentation). It's a 2wire router on an AT&T DSL connection with a Kensington usb mouse.

The same problem occurs on the other computer on the network, but not to my extreme (only a few kb/sec lost when mouse is stationary).

I think your computer is running slow.

Your mouse is a component that needs software to run.

What I would do is run through the system tools, and defrag the hard drive(s) and maybe clean up your excess files.

Those actions should speed up your computer, maybe a lot.

If you don't defrag regularly you can expect your system to run slow. Windows has a tendency to stack stuff up in the drives.

if it's a cable modem, then restart the modem, unplug the power cable and make sure to unplug the data cable as well(it's very important), then wait for few min and plug back in, might solve the problem, cuz doesn't look to me like it's a computer problem, looks like the buffer is full, but can't understand how it can be related to mouse movements..

Wow that's cool! Maybe it's a hardware short. You hooked up to a usb router or something? Maybe there's a banana in your tailpipe. Check that feature that lets someone else control your interface and disable it. Make sure your grounded. Also, verify your trig ID's - they might be corrupted.

PS - Don't listen to Warren, he does FORTRAN!
