I have heard that ink is wasted every time the printer is turned on again. I have a new Epson Stylus CX7800, connected to my PC, which is running Microsoft XP. Are there drawbacks to having the printer on even when the PC is off?

Is it possible for my LAN administrator to see:

1 - Which files i m downloading from limewire.
2 - Which websites i m browsing
3 - My username and passwords which i use on the websites
4 - Which files i m downloading from other softwares like,
metacafe, bit torrent. etc.

I m using Windows XP SP2, MS Firewall client for ISA Server 2004, Zone Alarm.

The other day I typed up a couple pages of very personal stuff... then my husband's friend came over, so I highlighted all I'd written and changed the font to "symbol". I continued to type. Then suddenly, from the bottom up, all I had typed began to quickly change into boxes. Freaking out, I exited my word doc. and then went back into it. I highlighted all again and tried to change it to a normal font but no matter what font I tried, it would all become just boxes of varying sizes. Anyone know what was going on?
