I just replaced the drum today, and the toner about a month ago. It is a brother mfc 9700.

It sounds like you need a new toner cartridge. I had to replace mine at work every 6 weeks...I did a lot of printing!!!

Often an ink error. Print a correctional page from your software.

You might reinstall the software and drivers for it.
Contact Brother Customer support.
