uninstalled quicktime but cant get rid of icon by clock...help?

So, the icon appears in the system tray? Now that is odd. Well, try this go to Start Menu > Run > type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks) > press [O.K.] > choose the last tab "Startup" > uncheck any items related to Quicktime. Usually, the items begin with "qt...." > [Apply] > Reboot.
