i have 1Mb broadband, and one laptop which is wireless ready, also an old desktop computer with network card (not wireless). i also want to be able to connect one more laptop which i might buy in future.

will the router allow me to connect the computer to each other, or just provide internet to the computer?
around what sort of price range can i get the hardware for?
any preferd brands?

I am a student who is looking for a new laptop. I had a Dell Laptop but it gave me more trouble than anything. Which would be best for both money and reliability? On the reliability point, would an Apple be better than say a Sony or Dell? I know that its hard to compare an Mac to another type of non Mac laptop. Any suggestions?

i have a dvd +rw disc with some data written on it. but i can't rewrite to the disc. the "get info" panel on mac (equivalent to properties on win) shows that it is read only! how do i rewrite to it?

External hard drives are like hard drive enclousures and have a hard drive in them. I was wondering if you can buy a hard drive enclosure that acts like a external hard drive. I am wondering this because i have an extra har drive laying around and i want to stick it in a external hard drive type of thing because i can't put it in my computer. Do they make such things?

I need to program a marquee sign for work and the software that comes with the sign requires 98 se. The entire company uses xp, and isn't 98 obsolete now anyways?. Is there anyway I can make the software work with xp?. It is supposed to be programmed through dos, so should it make a difference of which operating system is being used?

Have tried all i know including safemode start but as soon as riches the stage it tells me that the driver kernell32.dll is missing and cannot proceed. I am sweating and can't wait to get it back on. It contains very important information and software which I have no backup for at all. Step by step info on how to install the driver back will be highly appreceiated... I successfully shredded trojans, downloaders and web redirectors using this method and this was purely a mistake.
