The question is too vague, and it looks like it's trying to stir flaming?
Anyway, Pentiums may be better for number-crunching programs. Its HyperThreading technology is quite useful sometimes. Athlons are better than Pentiums at pretty much everything else, including dual-core performance.
Note that the new Pentium D, the Conroe core ones, could beat AMD's new Athlons.

Depends on what you use your computer for AMD is better for games and Intel pentiums are good for converting DVD's etc. Pentium 4 is also cheaper than Althon 64

I have two computers. 1 with Intel D and other with AMD Athlon..
rest of specs nearly identical.
Bottom line.. I love the AMD.. Faster, more reliable, Easier to control...
Seems several top reviews agree with me

CNET did a pretty thorough test a ferw months ago, including the current dual cores. AMD won.
