i have a dvd +rw disc with some data written on it. but i can't rewrite to the disc. the "get info" panel on mac (equivalent to properties on win) shows that it is read only! how do i rewrite to it?

you need to burn dvd as multi-session inorder to burn again. If you close the disk after burning, it will be read-only.

once you format a DVD-RW or a CD-RW you're making the disk right into a sudo hardcontinual that you'll drag and drop diles to it with out having to run someone burning application, it is why you lose some cupboard area. DVD-R's can't be erased or formated to jot right down to back, once they're written to, they're finished.

You have to delete the contents of the disk before rewriting to it, unless you're doing a multi-session burn. Open Disk Utility (located in your Utilities folder) click on your disk on the side, click the erase tab, and then erase.

Does you mac have a DVD-RW drive? You need a DVD-RW to drive to do that.

you need a re writable disc drive

clear the disk first use nero to do it
