My computer has the following configuration:

Make: IBM, Intel Pentium 4, 3.0 GHZ with H.T., 915 GV Chipset, 1 MB cache, 256 MB DDR RAM, 80 GB SATA HDD.

Can I upgrade my computer RAM from 256 MB DDR to 512 MB DDR, keeping in mind the system configurations ?

Hope this will not create any hardware mis-configuration problem ?

I'm trying to install Activesync 4.1 on my laptop, but it says the same error message each time I try and it says I should update my Windows XP Service Pack, but on the download page on microsoft.com it says it will work with SP1.
Is that a mistake? Will I have to upgrade to SP2?

I just got a new cd rom / cd writer / dvd rom installed in my computer after the old one failed. This one reads cd's at 52X (so did the old one, actually), but some of my cd's (not all of them, but some), make horrible rattling and whining noises when at the lowest speeds. My Tiger Woods game is nearly unplayable because of this (it's so horrible to listen to). This didn't happen in my old CD rom (which, by the way, was also 52X). What's wrong here? Any suggestions?

I'm 19/f/ PA. I'm not trying to hack codes from anyone. I just want to be able to play my sims game. My brothers have bought Vacation, Pets and Hot Date. I had to reinstall Windows on my computer because of a virus and the game was uninstalled. I've tried searching the web and have receive the Trojan Virus 2x. All I want to do is play my game. If I block someone on my Yahoo Messenger, I know they will not be able to see me on Messenger, but will it block my presence on other sites? Like for instance, in their addresses, on other Yahoo associated sites? And if they try to IM me just thinking I am invisible, will they get any notification that I have blocked them or will their message just go into oblivion?

We have two computers one my daughters and mine. Hers gets everything mine has no sound now. I don't understand why it quit. The voice chat says that another programs is using it. What program I have no idea? It just quit and I have tried using new speakers and they want work either. I have 256 MB DDR Ram installed (P4, 3.0 Ghz with H.T., 1 MB cache & 40 GB sata HDD) . If I remove some unwanted programs installations like skype, hotmail, yahoo extra's, screen savers, themes, all the programs which I hardly use. After removing them, will this increase the speed of my computer ? Or removing these programs wont make much difference. Presently my computer is showing 56 MB of 246 MB physical memory free & 1.8 GB of 1.9 GB virtual memory free
