you can get it in different ways,

if you just want to chat with your friends, you can use Gaim messenger, which support multiple protocols "I use it to access my MSN, Yahoo! and gTalk accounts", or if you want you can download Yahoo messenger from :

there used to be a native yahoo made messenger client. It's extremely old and honestly doesn't really work anymore.

You can however connect and use the yahoo messenger network by getting:
Gaim (for gnome interfaces)
or
Kopete (for KDE interfaces)

Download the UNIX version of YIM. I assume you know how to compile/RPM anything that needs it.
