i have downloaded the bios file to my hard drive from internet.please tell me how to install or upgrade bios, i require detailed procedeure step by step

I'm trying to edit this computer game on my computer with a hex editor, using this games guide to do it. So far everything is going good. But, I cannot find the offset for a specific item. The guide says the offset is 00c8. I cannot find that offset in the folder that I need to be in. I know c8 is the hexidecimal for 200, so I tried 200, but it did not work. Say i upgrade my computer. I would very much like to buy SATA hard drive since it's much faster than ATA hard drive, graphic card, i have no problem with that, my processor is fine, "people" say, but the real problem is the RAM. I just don't get familiar with DIMM, DDR, and all sorts of things and i don't know how to upgrade my RAM. My RAM is about 256MB and i don't know any information about the RAM. How can i investigate my RAM?

It only seems to care if the mail comes from a known bad address, and that's pretty easy to spoof. The virus scanner picks up the really harmful ones OK but the endless v!@gr# offers do annoy me. Any way to beef it up? It's an office system and I'm not about to change platform...
