Well, you did not provide enough information, but, some pointers would be:
Make sure you turn off all other progrms before you trybto install.
Empty your temporary internet files, and temp directory before you install.
If it still don't work, you probably have something wrong with your system that will need to be fixed first.

Oh, that's great, I was about to recommend them to a client who uses Open Office. Thanks for posting this. Could I ask;

Is that because you work for them?

Or that you bought a PC & they won't support it,
if you install OO on your own machine?

Why not ?
I changed from Word long ago to Open Office which works much
better and it is free.
