i set up a small home network for both of my computers. i changed my desktop computer name to a new unique name and it made me reboot. i went to my laptop to see my network places and to see the computers networked in the same work group but the old computer name is there. you cant click on it but its still there. i dont want the old name and the new name to appear in my work group network places. how do i get rid of it?

This is a new laptop, the place I bought it from said that it was 1.6 ghz. The performance speed of this Sempron mobile processor is 2.6 ghz. Is there a reason that it displays 798 mhz and is it really that slow?

I've used Spybot, AdAware SE Personal, and MS Defender. I tried a few spyware scans and it found all sorts of stuff that ALL 3 of those missed!

I've heard good things about Spysweeper and Spyware Doctor. Which do you think I should try?

Have you had experience (good or bad) with either?

Either myself or my grand kids downloaded this abomination and i cant seem to get rid of it. I did a hard drive search and nothing came up, I also found that there is nothing in add/remove to remove it.

For some unexplained reason when I'm in Yahoo mail, there are times that no matter what I do, I get "Page Cannot Be Found", which necessitates me to hit the 'refresh' button and that will bring me back to the place I was in before having that message come up. This has also happened when I finished composing an email and hit the 'send' button. It's a very frustrating problem, and I don't know the answer to the cause. Help!

with a simple style sheet:
.box { opacity: .30; width: 300px; }
and an object

You cannot run JS to get the following answers as I would expect:

alert(b.style.width);
and
alert(b.style.opacity)
or moreover
alert(b.style.MozOpacity)



If they are not in the style property, then where can I get this information. I know I can get the width, that one is updated into the .clientWidth property on the object. But nothing in the "style" object gets updated. This seems strange. Opacity is really what I am after here and I know it's different betwee browsers

Hi, One of my client's computer has this problem, when opening an IE window, it displays "about:blank" in address bar, but in IE window, it displays "Windows Security Center" and a spyware infection alert message, if clicking on the link, IE will be directed to "antispywarebox.com" , how to fix it ?
