I don't know about a screen having a thermometer in it, but there are heat sensors on some computer motherboards, and, using the right software, you can retrieve the data. If it's getting hot or overheating go to the hp site and order the cooling pad. It a box with a fan that your laptop sit on and it keeps the bottom cool. My daugter bought it for her hp laptop and all her problems with heat stopped.
