My TomTom One has locked up and refuses to turn on. I solved this a while ago but can't remember how. I know it involved connecting to a computer. Hope somebody out there can help as I have a long trip tomorrow.

Police are under the executive branch of government, and government officials were always implied to be "people."

But now we have these Orwellian crap traffic cameras, taking pictures, and sending out tickets, regardless of who might have been behind the wheel. Heck, I got a slew of tickets in the mail for a vehicle I had sold years before. Had a cop stopped that vehicle, they would have straightened that out immediately by addressing the person behind the wheel.

I ask, should we all write our congresspersons at www.congress.org and request they put a stop to these foul machines?

While I respect traffic laws and will answer to a police officer, I have a very hard time answering to a machine.

My wife said it sounded like she had a flat on one of the tires but they are all properly inflated. I looked at them and there's a thin layer of asphalt about three inches tall and the width of the tire. Will it damage the tire? How do I get it off?

Couldn't they make some sort of device that recognizes movement inside a vehicle if the temperature reaches a certain point? You would think this would be a big selling point for all those stressed out, overworked parents who tend to forget things in their daily routines (like their baby in the backseat of the car!)

I got my driver's license, but now I need to get used to driving by myself. I am used to always having someone in the car with me. So do you have any tips on how to get used to driving alone?

I dont believe in stopping at red lights if noone is around, nor do I like stopping at stop signs, cuz time is money and I dont like wasting time.

If you are approaching a green light and want to turn right and oncoming traffic is turning left (basically you both want to go the same direction) who has the right of way?

How does this differ from the same situation at a stop sign?

Thank you!

I have never liked those as a replacement to the standard yellow colored ones. All those blue ones do is blind oncoming traffic. Especially if you have cataracts, like I did. I was finally able to have my cataracts removed, but I can't stop thinking about those people who can't yet. Cataracts have to be a certain size before they are deemed surgically removable. This growth can take years. I was 28 when I had both eyes operated on to remove mine. (I had the ones that you can get at birth, which is why I was so young.) And I did not have a choice but to drive because I HAD to get back and forth to work and things. I was often driving at night and when a car with those blue headlights was coming my direction, that was ALL I could see. I could not even see the car in the lane directly in front of me anymore. I wonder, did the manufacturers take that in to account when they started putting them on cars?

I am on a two-way street and I am in the left lane. When I arrive at the intersection, the light is green with a left turn arrow. The lane I am in is not a left turn only lane. Am I allowed to go straight through or do I have to turn left?

I was driving on a 2-way street and reached the red light. At the same time the person across from me also came up to the red light. We were literally the only two on the street (spooky). He had his left turn signal on, I also had mine. There is no left turn lane and there are no green arrows at this intersection. So, the light turns green and both of us look at each other waiting for the other person to turn left.

My question is: who had the right of way?

Or is the answer, we both turn left at the same time? It just seems like there isn't enough room to do that.

My second question is: We have the same situation. I am turning left, the guy across from me is turning left. However, this time he has a guy behind him wanting to go straight. On a left turn you must yield to oncoming traffic. However, do I have to wait for the guy to turn left, then wait again for the next guy to go straight through? Or do I go at the same time as the guy turning left?

I am not a confident left turner.

Living in Atlanta I come across MANY bad drivers. I've been a lot of places and for some reason people here in Atlanta are the worst. We drive faster and more reckless than any other place I've been. With that being said, I think people everywhere not just here should have to retake their driving test every 5 years. My reason why is that people get in the habit of driving badly. Thats just the way they drive and they know no different. With taking the test again it may get some very reckless drivers off of the road. Does anyone agree?

They were driving on a highway and a women pulled out in front of them, within about 100' of the truck. There is substantial damage to the front end, especially on the passenger side. The front right corner is the worst. It was pushed in three feet. I see no reason for the airbags not to deploy. They feel their injuries would have been lessened, (Whiplash and extreme bruising from the seatbelts) had the airbags deployed. We would like to know both why they didn't deploy and is this worth pursueing with Ford Motor Company?
