Wrong! The middle is the safest place for a child and childseat. You may be able to get 3 booster sears across a medim sized car, but almost impossible to get 3 full-sized seats. I have trouble getting 3 full-sized seats in an Acura MDX, which is one of the widest non-truck cars on the road.

Carseats are supposed to be in the backseat. You need to read your owners manual to your vehicle to confirm what locations are acceptable for car seat use. Some vehicles will not allow carseats to be placed in the middle location.

You CAN have carseats touching each other..one in the middle and one outboard....as long as they are independently installed. ONe carseat cannot rely on the other carseat for secureness.

I think, for me, if there were no one else riding in the backseat, I would put the seats at the outboard locations and the leave the middle empty. BUT if you do have people riding in the backseat, then refer to your vehicle manual to confirm that you CAN put a seat in the middle. If it says it is okay, then put the seats side by side.

If you still are not sure, please contact a car seat technician in your area for assistance. http://www.seatcheck.org or http://www.safekids.org

You can fit 3 car seats in the back of a medium sized car. It's tight, but you can do it. It would probably be best for you to upgrade to a mini-van or a larger vehicle though. I would be worried about something on the car seats breaking if they were squeezed together too tightly. I hope this helped.

Only two metal loops on each side for child seat mounting. If you have a center seat belt that ratchets pull it out all the way and if it clicks when retracting you can sucure a baby rear facing carrier the old fasioned way with the seat belt. YOU MUST READ THE OWNERS MANUAL because I am not sure what year make model car your driving and if it can be done for sure.

Your better off to have them behind the seats.

Safer in a crash - than in the middle where there is nothing to stop them from head/neck injury
