The bridge collapse in Minnesota made me think of this...
I've heard before that if your car ends up going into deep water, that you will probably not be able to open the car doors because of the water pressure. I heard that to escape from your submerged car, you would need to roll down the windows.

That was fine back in the days when cars had cranks to roll the windows down, but now, all the windows have electronic push button controls. Those controls probably won't work if your car is underwater. Is there some way to get the windows down in that sort of emergency? Or should we just be carrying something heavy to smash our windows with in emergencies?

I recently got in a wreck with a huge truck. I was turning left on green light on the second lane. There was no arrows on the street or signs saying that there was two lanes turning left. The truck guy told me there was only one lane not two. The city just paved the road recently. They haven't put arrows yet. Are they at fault? Cause if there was signs I would have never turned left. I would have went straight and that would not have happened.

I am 16 years old and have been practicing driving. I've had my permit for about 3 months and practice with my dad. I'm pretty good but I get really nervous and as a result hesitate or make stupid mistakes I wouldn't normally have made. It also could be that my dad dosen't tell me when to turn or something like that until the last second so that might also be why too lol. Can someone help me overcome my fear??

When drivers are smoking a cigarette, how can they give full attention to driving safely?

If smoking while driving is banned, will that help solve the problem of careless smokers throwing their waste butts out of the window, which litters our highways and starts fires?

And isn't it desirable to do everything possible to make smoking cigarettes less and less attractive, so smokers will have more incentive to get free from the dirty habit and end the waste of America's resources they cause by their illnesses and their litter?

we all treat speeding as being different from a crime like theft but isn't it amoral and non-christian to speed? The road planners have over a hundred years of experience to call on when setting the maximum speed allowed for a particular stretch of road. Then we come along and exceed the limit by 20 percent, 50 percent, even 100 percent and do not believe that is wrong. If a seven-year-old rides her bicycle off the pavement into our path and we can't stop in time, is that really an "accident?"

Do they actually drive and if so can they put their hands on their hearts and say. I never ever break the speed limit.
I have a vivid memory of a taxi driver my firm used to use many years ago whio boasted that he had never broken the speed limit or had an accident in 35 years. Blimey he must have caused hundreds, those who sat with him came out shaking

Caravans are getting bigger as are the cars that tow them. This now means that a caravan and it's towing vehicle can be as long as an articulated lorry. However, there is currently no tax on drivers towing caravans. Why not? They block up the UK's roads from Easter until September, the driver in the vehicle towing the caravan has not sat a test to ensure that they know how to tow correctly and especially REVERSE! Towing a caravan puts an extra load on the towing vehicle which must increase it's carbon emmisions.

Caravans do we really need them??

I need to know how much hay you can legally haul before it requires a HAZMAT placard. Also, if anyone knows where to find this answer it would be helpful. I have checked the motor vehicle statue (Title 29A) and it just talks about height and width restrictions. I have also referenced the 2004 HAZMAT Response Guide but it only says how to deal with hay that may be oil or gas soaked. Thank you for all of your help.
