I recently got in a wreck with a huge truck. I was turning left on green light on the second lane. There was no arrows on the street or signs saying that there was two lanes turning left. The truck guy told me there was only one lane not two. The city just paved the road recently. They haven't put arrows yet. Are they at fault? Cause if there was signs I would have never turned left. I would have went straight and that would not have happened.

Darn good point, and the only way to find out for sure is to sue the city for failure to clearly mark the right of way.

If you turned into the truck on a left hand turn then you were at fault for failure to yield. But, if the truck was coming out of a second turn lane that you had no idea was there then the city was at fault for not posting that warning.

Without the markings you have to go by the rules of the road and the truck drive CAN'T legally turn from the second turn lane. So you could have had the right of way. The lack of markings promoted the accident.

Now if you were in the second turn lane, or what you thought was a second turn lane, then you were at fault because shouldn't have made that turn.

If the lane should have been posted no left hand turn then the city is at fault for not posting the proper signage.

if they were supposed to have signs or arrows, then yes, it is their fault, or at least partially their fault. They'll try to make the argument that as a driver you should've been paying more attention to the width of the road, the lanes within it, and the direction the traffic was turning

Where I live, if the city has just repaved a road and the lines haven't been painted yet, they post signs that say "NO LANE MARKINGS". If there was a sign like that where you were, the city has no liability.

You need to file a claim of negligence. The markings should have been there.
