I ask as I was knocked down by some stupid cyclist doing just that several years ago, he didn't even apologise!

The only answer is for somebody to make and market a portable almost invisible "stinger" so that if you encounter one of these thoughtless gits going the wrong way, riding on the pavement, going through red lights etc etc, you can just roll it out in their path. THEY then have the choice of trying to avoid it (and with a bit of luck they'll either fall off or - better - get a double puncture!) whilst YOU have the choice of braving it out with them or running like hell .
All that applies, of course, until such times as the police do their job and nick them instead of looking the other way all the time ! - !

Dont worry the cyclists will get what are coming to them becaue if the police see them doing this they will be given a £30 fine.

Because the bicyclist is answering to a more fundamental law ; the law of survival.
I'm not allowed to run so I ride a bike for exercise.I always ride against traffic because I need to see where death is coming from so that I can react to it and thereby keep myself alive for another day
If I were to remove my all the mirrors on my car I would get a ticket because I would be driving w/o knowing what was going on behind me and that's dangerous Yet there I am on a bicycle , vulnerable as all hell and the law tells me that it's OK to drive w/o knowing who's back there.
Sorry but given the choice between a ticket and funeral. I'll take the ticket.

Because they can get away with it. There is no requirement that a bicyclist have any form of identification on the bike. They are not required to have insurance. If a cop tries to stop them they will jump up on the sidewalk and get away!

When there is no fear of punishment, the law becomes just a suggestion!

As a cyclist you can basically break every road law in the book, as no one knows who you are or has anyway of tracing you. So a lot of them do what they want !! :)

Why are you still agonizing over something that happened several years ago. They have theropy for that sort of thing. How were you hit by a bicycle? Were you walking backwards?

You should get some Dr Scholl's gel insoles, so instead of yellin', you'll be gellin'. Find something worth worrying about to worry about.

They are idiots and beleive that the basics of highway code doesn't apply to them.

Of course they've never heard of sidewalks, either, even when they're 2 feet away!
