This is someone, I assume who does not live in Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico or South Carolina, which allows one to get a license at 15, or South Dakota, which allows one to get a license at 14. The poster didn't say the person was unlicensed!

It depends on the situation, as well as what state you're in.

In my case, I had my operators licence at 14 (farm licence), so there wouldn't be any penalty.

Here in Michigan, a person can start drivers ed at 14 yrs 9 mos, and at 15 they would have their permit to drive with an adult.

Theft of a vehicle (because no one will admit they let you drive), unlicensed driver, uninsured driver plus whatever the reason was they caught you. Minimum would be not being able to get a license until you are 21. At least where I live.

depends on your state.

here they could be charged with: Driving without a licence, driving while uninsured, auto theft (if they didnt ask permission to take the car) if they got permission the parents would be in trouble too
