I have seen more and more speeders in the last few weeks. I usually always catch them at the next stoplight. Dont you know that your jackrabbit starts and stops wastes tons of gas? Dont you realize that you waste twice as much gas going 75 than you do 55? Do you LIKE burning money? Or are you just kind of very slow in the mental department?

Obviously, I refused to play chicken (60mph zone) and braked to a near stop . but it took quite a while for lorry & car to sort out their differences,it looked like they were going to just race on side by side all the way down the hill!
My question is,How often does this sort of thing happen? When/why is it that drivers decide it's better to risk death than sit behind this lorry/tractor one second longer?
And why do people take offence at being overtaken and speed-up refusing to let the overtaker back in?
(Especially as most modern lorries etc go very fast and tractor drivers nearly always pull over to let a queue past.)

When the weather warrants lights why not just use dipped lights.
The piddly little s/l can niether light the road for the driver and in most instances cannot be seen by oncoming traffic.
(PARKING?????) How many people uses s/l ??

My question is actually about whether or not morality is absolute. Here's a scenario. Let's say there's a 20 car pileup on the freeway. Without further information, how many drivers do you think were probably at fault?
A. 0
B. 1
C. 19
D. 20
Feel free to elaborate.

Today I got a speeding ticker in Maine on the highway, 82 in a 65. It was very dark out and I couldnt even see the parked police car until he was literally righ next to me. He did not have his parking lights on or anything like that. I have heard from multiple people that if an officer fails to have his parking lights on while trying to catch speeders, you can have your ticket thrown out. Is there any truth to this? Thanks.

I'm sure everyone that drives or has sat in the passenger seat has encountered these situations where they see the car in front of them *constantly* stopping. If the driver is learning how to drive/a new driver, then okei, that's understandable. Or if the driver is driving a standard car, that's understandable. And yeah, sometimes, they may be looking for a street or something but ergh ... what about all those OTHER times? I just figure there are other reasons.

What's worse though are those folks that brake at every intersection even with GREEN traffic lights. There are no flashing hands or anything to indicate that the light is going to change soon!

So! If you brake for phantom cars, please enlighten me as to why you do it. Thanks~!

I'm in my mid 20's and I've never gotten my license. I've been afraid to drive. I think of how I could hurt people being behind the wheel. I feel like it's taken a chunk of opprotunities out of my life because of it. I need to drive sooner rather than later. I don't want to finish the rest of my twenties without experiencing this. Please help!!!

Like if you're backing up and about to go forward and you turn the steering wheel. I recently heard that it is bad to do, and I have no idea.

Er, that is, road rage from the tailgater not you getting mad.

I'm one of the million people out of there that despises tailgaters and does not practice tailgating. I'd love to find ways of dealing with them. Sometimes, I just speed up, other times, I just slow down and cruise at the speed limit. However, I tend to not do either too often in fear of incurring their wrath at, say, the stop light at the intersection where the person could just get out of his or her car and go all crazy violent on me.

Has anyone been the recepient of a raged driver specifically related to tailgating? :/

Obviously what we're doing now isn't working, especially in my state. We have tougher sentencing now, lots of advertising to try to get people to not drink and drive, roadblocks, etc., and they aren't working.

What do you think it will take to really get through to the people who are most likely to drink and drive, and get them to make different decisions and actions?
